The Intensive Care Unit  t is located in the second floor of King Hamad University Hospital. It has a total capacity of seventeen beds shared between 2 units: Intensive Care Unit A (12 beds) and Intensive Care Unit B (5 beds). The adult critical care department provide a 24/7 service oversight by a highly qualified physicians and nurses. The unit is equipped with high tech equipment including ventilators, monitors, point-of-care ultrasound machines, dialysis machines and continuous renal replacement therapy machines. Admitted patients are high acuity medical – surgical adult population (age >14 years) with complex medical diagnoses. The majorities of our diagnoses include, but are not limited to acute respiratory failure, acute circulatory failure, acute renal failure, post-operative monitoring, acute stroke, acute coronary syndrome and multi-organ failure.
